What the methodology is designed to do
ProcurementAI is built as an independent market map for AI-enabled procurement companies. The methodology helps organize a fast-changing market into consistent, comparable company profiles.
The goal is to support market research, vendor discovery, category understanding, and profile accuracy. It is not a vendor ranking, rating, endorsement, or substitute for buyer due diligence.
Review process
Identity check
ProcurementAI checks company identity signals such as official website, LinkedIn page, domain, logo, name variants, and duplicate risk.
Procurement relevance
Companies are reviewed for a clear connection to procurement workflows, sourcing, suppliers, contracts, spend, P2P, risk, intake, or related enterprise procurement work.
AI and automation evidence
Public product information and submitted updates are reviewed for evidence of AI, automation, agentic workflows, decision intelligence, or procurement-specific orchestration.
Taxonomy mapping
Published companies are mapped to a primary workflow category, relevant use cases, and an automation maturity level using the current ProcurementAI classification standard.

Workflow category
The primary area of the procurement workflow where a company appears most relevant.
Use cases
The specific procurement jobs, capabilities, or business problems a company may help address.
Automation maturity
The apparent level of AI-enabled automation, from assistive analysis through agentic procurement execution.
Publication status
Only published companies are shown in the public directory. Companies may be held, rejected, or reclassified during review.
Automation maturity
- Assistive: AI supports research, analysis, drafting, classification, or decision-making while users remain responsible for most actions.
- Semi-automated: AI automates defined steps within a procurement workflow, usually with human review, approval, or configuration.
- Autonomous: AI can execute specific procurement-related tasks or workflow actions within defined rules, permissions, or system boundaries.
- Agentic: AI agents can plan, coordinate, and perform multi-step procurement tasks across tools, workflows, or systems.
Submitted updates and human review
ProcurementAI accepts new company submissions and profile update requests. Submitted information is reviewed before publication and may be accepted, edited, rejected, or reclassified.
Human-submitted and human-confirmed corrections have the highest priority within ProcurementAI workflows unless later review finds stronger evidence.
Data freshness
Company profiles are maintained through recurring discovery, submitted corrections, logo and link checks, taxonomy refinements, and periodic review.
The Weekly Updates page shows the current update window for published companies. It is intended for market tracking, not vendor ranking.
